Pre-Bid Meeting Information: A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 pm local time on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Birch Creek Dam #1 (Latitude 41.505066 N, Longitude 111.319851 W), roughly 8 miles west of Woodruff, UT on State Road 39 (Monte Cristo Road).
Project Description: Work to be performed includes the breach of Birch Creek Dam #1, including excavation of the embankment, stockpiling the material, and the removal and disposal of the existing outlet works. To protect the channel after the breach, a concrete apron will be built with Reno Mattresses downstream filled with riprap to create a solid rock layer. A fabric liner will be placed between the native soil and the 1-foot thick gabions. The exposed slope will be reseeded. A temporary access road from the dam outlet to the stockpile area is needed. The Owner requires the Project to be substantially completed by October 15, 2018. Final completion must be done by October 31, 2018. Notice of Award is expected to occur by June 14, 2018.
